Artists

Jonathan Cooke Jonathan Cooke
Jonathan Cooke's musical roots are found in the Beatles, the Doors, the Police, Elvis Costello, Wilco, and Cat Stevens. Cooke's debut CD "Cosmic Casino" sounds like an original mix of Rubber Soul & Revolver, with a touch of Eels thrown in for fun. We call it Chromacopic Alternative Pop! Its main themes focus on the psychedelic and abstract nature of the universe, and on how people strive to be free in a world of uncertainty. Cosmic Casino, produced by acclaimed Canadian indie producer Dave Draves, will be released in March 2007.

Dictafone Dictafone
If Neil Finn, Andy Partridge, Neil Hannon, and Damon Albarn formed a supergroup, they would call it Dictafone. The band’s “Wrapped up in a Five pound note” was released in May 2004 and garnered much critical and public acclaim for the CD and for the live performances where the band are particularly impressive. Dictafone’s second CD was recorded in Sheffield and Paris. The ambitious and multi-coloured “The Chocolate King” will be released in May 2007.

Bo Bo
Bo is pop, electro, trendy … Bo loves you. Bo was born 3 years ago but he looks a bit older. His music is a special mix of Beck, Soulcoughing, The Beatles and Serge Gainsbourg. His debut CD "323 zap Shangaï Baseball" was released in France in October 2004. Singles "Vegetable" and "Pom Pom Girls" have received generous radio play in France, and the “Vegetable” video has been broadcast repeatedly on MTV, MCM, and Pink TV. Bo’s second CD will be released June 2007.

The Cold Shoulder The Cold Shoulder
Melodies and words straight from the brain of the very talented Jamie Reid backed up by his
equally talented cohorts Ben and Cameron on bass and drums. Sometimes someone manages to distill their influences without sounding like them and adds their own indefinable something. You'll find a bit of Split Enz/Crowded House, a bit of Bowie, and a large amount of Jamie Reid throughout. Recorded in London under the disused rail arches of Waterloo, keeping to the "live feel" ethic as much as possible, welcome to the debut CD from The Cold Shoulder: “Milk It” will be released in July 2007.

David McFarlane David McFarlane
David McFarlane is amazed at how closely sound is connected to memory, how a microphone remembers the sonic characteristics of a room and how that can transport the listener back to a specific time and place or an imagined new one. McFarlane instinctively absorbs that into his music, resulting in a kind of melancholic nostalgia. He has been working with live and recorded improvisational sound experiments for many years, but it is only recently that these abstract tendencies have taken on more conventional forms. McFarlane’s debut CD will be released August 2007.
