About Us
History
JTD Records was founded in 2004 by two eager entrepreneurs, Jonathan Cook and Tobias Wynen. This Canadian label began operations in early 2005 and has since then grown from a one artist label to a multi-artist label. With a mission to move forward in the Canadian music scene by introducing new and original alternative pop rock music, JTD records aims to become music leaders and trendsetters in North America.
The record label’s name was chosen to symbolize the talent and creativity of the three minds that put the label together. The name JTD combines the first letter of the first name of two company founders and the acclaimed indie producer (Dave Draves) who produced the label's first recording: Jonathan, Tobias, Dave. Without this combination there would be no label and the name represents the need to produce quality material by quality artists with a variety of musical skills.
The label's founders have a combined experience of 25 years in music related activities (in both artistic and business aspects of the music industry) and 22 years in non-music related business activities.
